Duke Basketball Star’s Jeep Registered To Dreamworks Motorsports

The Jeep that Duke basketball player Michael Savarino was driving when he was pulled over and cited for impaired driving belonged to fellow teammate Paolo Banchero — but registered to Dreamworks Motorsports, a car customizing company located in Roxboro, NC. Dreamworks specializes in customizing cars for celebrities, most of them athletes. Banchero’s possession of the Jeep appears to be an arrangement made from the NCAA’s recent rule allowing athletes to cut marketing deals for their own benefit. Savarino, the grandson of Duke basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski, faces charges of driving while impaired and Banchero, who was in the backseat when the Jeep was pulled over, is charged with aiding and abetting DWI. Both men are ordered to appear in court early December.
