College Of Charleston Honors Enslaved Africans And Native Indigenous People With Solar Pavilion
The College of Charleston honors the contributions victims of slavery and area indigenous people have made with its new “Solar Pavilion.” It’s a tribute to those enslaved Africans and native indigenous people who played a major role in Charleston and the College of Charleston’s history.
“We are really dedicating the Solar Pavilion and a lot of the archeological context surrounding the excavations associated with it,” explained Scott Harris, who serves as the director of the school’s archeology program.
