NC State University Marketing Researchers Identify What Makes People Like Images On Instagram

North Carolina State University associate professor of marketing William Rand says research shows that it is “increasingly (likely) to determine whether images included in social media messages are likely to garner interest from consumers.” Rand, co-author of a paper on the research adds, “But a lot of the variables that we know affect public interest have very little to do with the images themselves.”
