Duke Basketball Player, Coach K’s Grandson, Charged With DUI
“We’ll handle it internally,” Coach Mike Krzyzewski said after Michael Savarino, Coach K’s grandson, was pulled over for a stop sign violation and found to be driving while legally impaired. Savarino, a junior guard for the Blue Devils basketball team, admitted to drinking at the scene. Savarino was driving highly-prized recruit and teammate Paolo Banchero’s Jeep when he was pulled over. Banchero was in the backseat and was charged with aiding and abetting impaired driving. The pair are ordered to appear in court early December.
