UNC Chapel Hill Athletes Named To U.S. Field Hockey Team

Three Tar Heels have been named to the U.S. team for the women’s 2021 Junior Pan American Championship, set for Aug. 21-28 in Santiago, Chile. Erin Matson, Madison Orobono and Paityn Wirth will represent the United States as part of the 18-member team.
 
“I congratulate Erin, Maddi and Paityn for making the U.S. team and I’m so pleased for them to have this opportunity to represent their country,” UNC coach Karen Shelton said. “The future of USA Field Hockey depends on these junior opportunities to continue to develop our younger players against high-level international competition.”
