Charlotte 49er Honored By The American Athletic Conference
Charlotte 49ers running back Hahsaun Wilson was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after his breakout performance in the 49ers’, 44-38, overtime home loss to Memphis, Saturday.
Wilson, a redshirt sophomore who had one carry for four yards in his two previous seasons and had not carried the ball at all in 2023, exploded for 198 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The 198 rushing yards are the second-most by a 49ers rusher in school history and the most at Jerry Richardson Stadium. His three TDs are tied for second-most in school history.
He had touchdown runs of 23, 2 and 3 yards. His three-yard TD run with 7:46 left to play gave Charlotte a 38-28 lead. His longest run of the game was 34 yards. His first rush of the game came in the second quarter with all of his damage coming over the final three quarters of play.
