World Afro Day Celebrated At Johnson C Smith University
Today is World Afro Day, a day where natural Black hair is celebrated as part of Black history! The day focuses on global change, education and celebration of Afro hair, culture and identity. Though the Afro is rooted in African culture, it became prominent in the U.S. in the 1960s during the Civil Rights Movement to act as a symbol of pride and empowerment.
